Frequently asked questions

Can I be/have a caregiver for a medical marijuana patient in Michigan?

Yes, medical marijuana patients in Michigan can have a caregiver. See the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program (MMMP) website here.

To apply as a caregiver, follow this process:

  1. Register for an account here:
  2. Patient must fill out application form and fill out the Caregiver section as well, listing their patients.
  3. Attach certificate and appropriate documents (ID, proof of address) and send it to the MMMP, whether online or via post (we recommend online). Once approved, the patient and caregiver will receive a medical marijuana identification card.

According to the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act (MMMA), anyone can be a caregiver who is at least 21 with no drug felonies, no violent felonies, and no felony at all within the past ten years.
