What are the medical marijuana laws in South Dakota?

On November 3, 2020, South Dakota legalized by medical and recreational marijuana. Those aged 18 or over can qualify for medical marijuana, and those aged 21 or over may use cannabis for recreational purposes. The law for medical cannabis patients takes effect on 01 July, 2021. The rules for the South Dakota Medical Cannabis Program are yet to be finalized.

Although recreational cannabis has also been legalized by Amendment A, the ruling has not been finalized as of yet.
